A few of us decided to create a fun color palette challenge! We are going to pick color palettes for each other to whip up a project in one month. For November, I am picking colors for Lorelei at Mermaid Sews. Her typically colors are often as bright and bold as her lovely personality. Pink, Purple, Blue and Yellow are prominent, with intense bold colors that remind me of My Little Ponies, Care Bears and Rainbow Bright. She posted a mosaic of her style and tastes. Check out the happiness!
My inspiration for her color palette to work with came from dressing my son Ace. His perfect creamy skin and bright blue eyes, he just looks dashing in rust and a slate blue. So when I dressed him this morning in this I knew I had found exactly the color challenge for her!
(The t-shirt is by TinyLittleMonster. I love their stuff!)
So I used my super mad Photoshop skillz and made this to make it easy to see the colors, along with a mosaic that is probably a little useless but made me realize I want to wear autumn colors all year round.
I am very excited about our little challenge. Nerdy Sewist, Sew Your Own Way, Mermaids Sews and I are taking part in November. It should be a really fun way to explore new colors. I think they will all make mini quilts or maybe bags or (brilliantly) maybe holiday gifts?! I am hoping to make an outfit! Too ambitious? Probably. No promises though. I really can’t wear purple. Yet.
Once I get assigned my colors I will let you know! What colors are you working with now? Do the seasons affect your crafting palettes?
